Loes Schepens Atelier
For more than 20 years, Loes Schepens has been researching and making paper from plant fibers. She works in her studio in The Hague and her work is shown all over the world. A selection of her artworks can also be seen in the display gallery Paper Art & Design situated in front of her studio. On irregular base Loes gives workshops, individual and for groups. There are also opportunities for collaboration with students or professional artists who would like to work with paper for a particular project.
In this 2-day masterclass, you will learn about flax, the various techniques of papermaking and making paper thread, and how to spin and weave with your paper and paper threads. You will work in Loes’s studio in The Hague and Marieke’s studio in Utrecht.

In de galerie en de etalage is werk te zien van Franca Fokkinga en Ildikó Vigh. Franca is net afgestudeerd aan de HKU en maakte een bijzondere collectie over de coming-of-age en de zwaarte die daar vaak bij komt kijken. In het handgeschepte papierwerk van Ildikó Vigh staat materiaalonderzoek centraal. Via reizen, verzamelen en experimenteren komt zij tot ordening. Licht, schaduw en toevalsfactoren spelen voor haar een belangrijke rol.
