My flax artworks are now also on display and for sale at this unique linen shop Timeless Linen in The Hague. As well as interior items such as curtains in many styles and colours, cushions, bed linen and table linen, Joanna Pietrzyk also designs linen clothing.
Her linen originates from Poland – an ancient country with a long history of literature, art and craftsmanship. A country with a rich culture, including the art of transforming flax into beautiful fabrics. She is familiar with the process from flax to fabric, and my works – made from flax into paper – really appealed to her.
She is convinced that choosing linen makes a statement. It means following your heart, living in the moment and being part of nature. When you touch linen, you are reminded to pause for a moment, slow down and keep your eyes open. And that is a statement I can wholeheartedly endorse through my own work.
