From Fascination to Life’s Work
Due to the overwhelming number of people interested in the workshop with Rogier Uitenboogaart—and because we couldn’t offer everyone a spot—we decided at the last minute to organize an additional lecture and demonstration.
During this two-hour session, Rogier will take you on a journey to Shikoku, Japan. He’ll talk about his travels and Japanese culture, and about how a single special sheet of paper he discovered in Amsterdam inspired him to move to Japan and learn the centuries-old craft of washi paper. What began as a fascination eventually became his life’s work.
He’ll explain the entire process of how washi paper is made and will also demonstrate it live during the session. A truly special evening you definitely won’t want to miss.
