The Hoorneboeg in Hilversum is a quiet area and estate located in a forest.
This deciduous forest is in turn encapsulated by a nature reserve with heathlands. During the flowering time of the heather, Loes was invited to explore the possibilities of making paper from the local plants. During the 4 days she was allowed to stay in the cottage “Stille Midden,” she took many walks in the area.

She discovered other species such as tansy and great spring seed. But ferns also stood beautifully in the light that shone through the high crests of the deciduous forest. Moved by the beautiful landscape and peaceful nature, she got new ideas for works of art. She made the pulp on the spot and later turned them into works of art in her studio. These now hang in one of the beautiful buildings of De Hoorneboeg.
